Dear VLTA Members,
I hope this message finds you well and that you have successfully weathered the biting cold of this past winter. It certainly felt like one of the harshest seasons we have experienced in quite some time, and I am personally thrilled to see warmer temperatures and the first spring buds appearing this month. There is truly nothing like the arrival of spring to breathe new life into the housing market and energize our industry.
As we move into this new year, our focus remains steadfast on the legislative landscape. This has been an exceptionally active session for the title industry, with a significant volume of proposed bills that could reshape how we do business. Our legislative committee and our lobbyist, James Pickral, have been working tirelessly in Richmond to ensure that the interests of title professionals are represented. We strive to keep the practical realities of your daily operations at the forefront of every conversation with legislators. Please keep a close eye on upcoming VLTA newsletters for comprehensive updates on passed legislation and guidance on how these new laws will impact our industry.
On the educational front, our first seminar of the year in Charlottesville was a resounding success! It was wonderful to see so many of you in person, and I want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who attended and to our fantastic instructors. Our instructors are dedicated volunteers who work diligently to put together a comprehensive and insightful program. If you were unable to join us in Charlottesville, I encourage you to register for our next seminar in Virginia Beach, which promises to be another excellent opportunity for professional development and networking.
Finally, I am excited to announce that registration is now officially open for the VLTA Annual Convention in Roanoke. This is our premier event of the year—a time to come together, share insights, and strengthen the bonds of our professional community. I encourage you to register early to secure your spot and take advantage of what promises to be an unforgettable program.
Don’t miss out on the VLTA Night at the Diamond and a gathering at Eavesdrop Brewery in Northern Virginia.
Thank you for your continued dedication to the VLTA. I look forward to seeing many of you in Virginia Beach and at the Annual Convention as we navigate this busy and productive year together.
Sincerely,
Sharron Kennovin
