DSC01644Hello, My Name is Stephanie Campbell and I am the Director of Education for VLTA.  As the Director of Education, it is my job to make sure that VLTA provides top notch education for our regional events and the Annual Convention.  As a licensed title agent for almost twenty years, my committee and I strive to find the most entertaining, yet extremely educated individuals to present continuing education topics to our members. While continuing education is a necessary evil, it shouldn’t be painful to sit through.

That said, we are approaching the end of the 2017-2018 Biennium year.  It is important to remember some specific dates, so that we are not caught unprepared.  The last day to complete courses and pay the nonrefundable continuance fee is November 30, 2018.  There is the opportunity to correct any CE deficiencies by completing courses and paying your nonrefundable continuance fee between December 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018 without penalty.  Should you miss this deadline, you can file and pay a $100 late filing penalty between January 1, 2019 and January 31, 2019. The January 2019 dates are also considered the Agent appeal period.  If no action is taken and your CE courses have not been completed or the fee paid, licenses will be terminated on or by February 15, 2019.  If a license is terminated and no action is taken during the appeal period, you can begin applying for a new license on February 16, 2019.  You will be required to pass an exam, submit current criminal history record, and pay nonrefundable licensing fees.  You may also be required to complete the sixteen hour pre-licensing course.  The commission appeal process takes place between February 16, 2018 and March 18, 2019.

I sincerely hope this reminder is helpful and that everyone completes their CE Courses and pays their fees on time.  Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.  Also, anyone who is interested in joining the VLTA Education Committee is encouraged to do so.  We are nothing without the dedicated folks who agree to volunteer their time.  I can be contacted via email at SCampbell@wltic.com or by phone at (443) 465-7143.
