In support of our 2026 Annual Convention theme this year, “Use the Technology; Be the Human“, we are inviting VLTA members to donate their creative talents and skills!
We invite members to donate handmade items, homegrown goods, creative works, or donated time and services. Items should be crafted, curated, or personally provided by the donor. Donation examples may include but are not limited to:
Handmade & Crafted Items
- Knitted, crocheted, quilted, or sewn items (blankets, scarves, hats, bags)
- Cross-stitch, embroidery, or needlepoint pieces (framed or functional)
- Macramé wall hangings or plant holders
- Hand-thrown or sculpted clay/ceramic pieces
- Handmade jewelry (bracelets, necklaces, earrings)
- Woodworked or carved items
- Hand-bound journals or sketchbooks
- Artwork (paintings, drawings, prints)
Homemade & Homegrown Goods
- Canned goods (jams, jellies, pickles, sauces)*
- Baked goods (where permitted)*
- Spice blends, rubs, or tea mixes
- Honey, beeswax candles, or soaps
*Food items must follow all applicable safety and packaging guidelines (see Parameters below).*
Experiences, Time & Services
- Personal coaching or mentoring session
- Professional services (consulting, design, photography, writing, resume review)
- Skill-based lessons (music, art, cooking, crafting)
- Guided experiences (virtual or in-person, where appropriate)
- Volunteer time for a cause or project
Think of it as an Artisan Hall or “Members’ Market”; where craftsmanship, storytelling, and connection come together. Each silent auction item will be accompanied by a short blurb or bio from the donor, allowing bidders to learn not just about the item, but about the person behind it.
We’re aiming to collect FIVE member-donated items per month leading up to the Convention, and we’d love for you to be one of them!
How to Participate
- Decide what you’d like to donate: item, service, or experience (review Donation Parameters & Guidelines).
- Submit a brief description, estimated value, and your donor blurb using the dedicated online Google Form
OR email the printable Donation Checklist Form to membership@vlta.org (you only need to submit one form per donation). - Deliver or coordinate your item by the designated monthly deadline.
