Paula Caplinger Retirement

After nearly four decades in the title insurance industry, Paula Caplinger—respected underwriting counsel, manager, and valued colleague—retired on August 29. Paula grew up in Elkins, West Virginia, earning her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from West Virginia University and her Juris Doctor from the Marshall Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary. She and her husband, Jacob, made Newport News their home as Paula began her legal career with a local firm. Paula’s journey in the title insurance sector began at Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation, and in 1995 she joined Chicago Title. Over the next thirty years, she excelled as both manager and underwriting counsel, demonstrating expertise and dedication. Her approachable demeanor, exceptional knowledge, and practical insight made her a trusted resource for agent partners and clients alike. Notably, Paula played a key role in developing continuing education and continuing legal education offerings, and was instrumental in expanding the FNF webinar series, which has become the most widely attended title insurance webinar program in the Mid-Atlantic region. Both Paula and FNF take great pride in her impactful career. While Paula’s absence will be deeply felt throughout Virginia’s title insurance community, the FNF Family of Companies extends heartfelt congratulations and best wishes as she embarks on this well-earned retirement.
