From VLTA Past President, Glenda Brooks

I joined VLTA in 2009 as part of the VLTA Board of Directors. My hope at the time was to work with Board Members to further the interests of VLTA and its members. Nearly a decade later, VLTA has grown into an amazing organization. We have doubled our membership, tripled the number of our events, and quadrupled our online course offerings. In response to member demand, we have rolled out new technologies like digital education sign-in, event mobile applications, an updated website, a new online learning portal, new credit tracking software, and more! We have amped up our social media ensuring members are always in the loop.

As you know, my term as President came to an end last June, and I hope that I helped make a positive impact on the association. I will remain on the Board as Past President until June of this year, and look forward to working with VLTA’s future leadership. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve. My service was bolstered by the dynamic individuals who work so hard to support our industry advocacy. Our Executive Director, Kathleen Herndon, was always there for me – she is a talented woman whose commitment has paved the way for a modern association. I would also like to thank our taskforce members, committee chairs, and many volunteers. Most importantly, I would like to thank the members of VLTA.
